Initially, he faced difficulties obtaining approval from the city council. However, in 1973, he was granted permission to build 1,500 homes, allowing him to embark on his ambitious project. Despite the challenging start, he successfully pursued his dream and built an entire town in this area.
Since then, development has been continuous, and the area continues to grow into a larger town while remaining a popular holiday destination. The Quesada family is still actively involved in the area and has become one of the largest property developers in the Costa Blanca region.
Over the years, numerous activities, businesses, and amenities have been introduced. La Marquesa Golf Club, opened in 1989, helped boost the area’s development by attracting more international buyers.
